A lot of NOLO books are good, this one is excellent. It provides a well laid out, informed guide to producing a strong special needs trust for your child. The majority will set up a trust with an attorney, but should get this book anyway. It provides assurance that all your bases are covered and provides a great outline for developing your trust. It raises many of the issues you will face, provides case law with in-depth answers to common questions, and will give you insight on what to expect and what to ask for, when you meet with your attorney. It also provide templates to set up a Special Needs Trust yourself.

An excellent guide to setting up a life plan for your special needs child or adult. Practical advice on a very difficult subject. This is the only book that takes you in depth into financial and life planning for your special needs child. It raises hard questions, but provides a lot of practical information that parents need in completing a long term plan for their child, after they are no longer there to care for him or her. A lot of emphasis is placed on setting up financial and other support plus training for your child ahead of time, so do not delay in getting this book. Rather expensive but worth it.
